The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Monday, July 31 and Friday, Aug. 4

Master of Science in Mathematics thesis defence

Fatemeh (Nazanin) Hasheminejad, a Master of Science in Mathematics and Statistics candidate, will defend the thesis “Convergence Analysis of Heterogeneous Decision-making Populations Under the Coordinating Best-response and Imitation Update Rules” on Monday, July 31 at 11 a.m. in virtual format.

PhD in Psychology thesis defence

Ashley Dawn Ryan, a PhD in Psychology candidate, will defend the thesis “Mechanisms of episodic simulation of helping behaviour in younger and older adults” on Tuesday, Aug. 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. in virtual format.

Master of Arts ​in Psychology thesis defence

Estera Houshang Tehrani, a Master of ​Arts in Psychology candidate, will defend the thesis “Experiences With Social Identity Threat: Investigating Threat’s Impact on the Self” on Tuesday, Aug. 1 from 1 to 3 p.m. in WH 147.

Master of ​ Arts in Applied Health Sciences (Sport Management) thesis defence

Jesse Porter, a Master of ​Arts in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “Because we Care…. it’s so Easy to Exploit Us”:  Exploring Emotional Labour of Women Head Coaches on Friday, Aug. 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in STH 361 (hybrid).

 Master of ​ Science in Applied Health Sciences (Kinesiology) thesis defence

Melanie Burgess, a Master of Science in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “Treating Yourself in a Fairway: Examining the Contribution of Self-Compassion and Well-Being on Performance in a Putting Task” on Friday, Aug. 4 from noon to 3 p.m. in WC 204.
