Thesis defences — June 12 to June 16

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place from Monday, June 12 to Friday, June 16.

PhD in Psychology thesis defence

Victoria Dykstra, a PhD in Psychology candidate, will defend the thesis “Lie-telling during adolescence: A multi-method approach” on Thursday, June 15 from 2 to 5 p.m. in PLZ 600F.

The examination committee members are Brian Roy, Chair; Angela Evans and Teena Willoughby, Co-Supervisors; Audun Dahl, External Examiner (University of California, Santa Cruz); Ann Farrell, Internal Examiner; and Drew Dane, Advisory Committee.

Master of Arts in Psychology thesis defence

Pratik Nath, a Master of Arts in Psychology candidate, will defend the thesis “‘An Electrophysiological Study of Noisy Channel Sentence Comprehension” on Thursday, June 15 at 2 p.m. in PLZ 600F.

The examination committee includes Tom Dunk, Chair; Veena Dwivedi, Supervisor; Lynn Dempsey, External Examiner (Brock University); Stephen Emrich, Graduate Program Director; and Karen Campbell and Suzanne Curtain, Committee Members.

Master of Arts in Geography thesis defence

Sarah Coose, a Master of Arts in Geography candidate, will defend the thesis “Evaluating Tourist Assessments of Ethics and Animal Welfare: A Case Study in Wolf-Oriented Tourism” on Friday, June 16 at 2 p.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee includes Dawn Zinga, Chair; David Fennell, Supervisor; Bryan Grimwood, External Examiner (University of Waterloo); Christopher Fullerton, Graduate Program Director; and Danuta de Grosbois and Bastian Thomsen, Committee Members.
