Community partners to help kick off Wellness Day

Brock will welcome community partners from the Niagara Region Métis Council (NRMC) as part of the opening ceremony for the 21st annual Employee Wellness Day. NRMC Senator Jean-Jacques Seguin and special guests will accept Brock’s Land Acknowledgement and provide remarks.

Wellness Day will kick off in the Rankin Family Pavilion (RFP) atrium at 8:40 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20. Participants can pick up their registration packages starting at 8 a.m. in the Thistle Hallway near the Tim Horton’s.

The barbecue luncheon is scheduled to begin at noon in the DeCew Dining Hall.

The 2023 Health, Safety and Wellness Champion and Bike Raffle winner will be announced during the closing ceremony at 3:45 p.m. in the RFP, which will also host the Penny Sale throughout the day.

This year’s Penny Sale, which raises funds for student awards, has more than 70 items to be won thanks to the generosity of donors. Tickets will be available to purchase from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at a cost of $15 for 25 tickets or $25 for 50 tickets. Ticket purchases can only be made in cash.

More than 600 employees have already registered to participate in Wellness Day activities. All employees, including those who have not registered for Wellness Day, are invited to attend the opening and closing ceremonies and to access drop-in sessions and rooms throughout the day.

For more information about the schedule, visit the Wellness Day site. Donations will be accepted for the Penny Sale until Monday, June 19. For information about making a Penny Sale donation or to become a volunteer, email wellnessday@brocku.ca
