Thesis defences — May 15 to May 19

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place from Monday, May 15 to Friday, May 19.

Master of Science in Biological Sciences thesis defence

Jocelyn Armistead, a Master of Science in Biological Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “A comparison of blue vane trap, netting and photographic collection methods for evaluating Canadian bumble bee diversity” on Tuesday, May 16 at 2 p.m. in PLZ 600F in hybrid format.

The examination committee includes Cheryl McCormick, Chair; Miriam Richards, Supervisor; Jessica Forrest, External Examiner (University of Ottawa); and Gary Pickering and Cory Sheffield, Committee Members.

Master of Science in Chemistry thesis defences

Zachary Raczywolski, a Master of Science in Chemistry candidate, will defend the thesis “The Synthesis of Silicon-Modified Lipids and the Investigation of their Surface Properties ” on Wednesday, May 17 at 1 p.m. in MCH 313.

The examination committee includes Cheryl McCormick, Chair; Paul Zelisko, Supervisor; Marc J. Adler, External Examiner (Toronto Metropolitan University); and Jeffrey Atkinson and Martin Lemaire, Committee Members.

Oyindamola Azeez, a Master of Science in Chemistry candidate, will defend the thesis “Development of a synthetic protocol for the preparation of mono-substituted N-3 functionalized syndones ” on Friday, May 19 at 11 a.m. in PLZ 409.

The examination committee includes Cheryl McCormick, Chair; Travis Dudding, Supervisor; Brian L. Pagenkopf, External Examiner (Western University); and Costa Metallinos and Paul Zelisko, Committee Members.

Master of Science in Management (Organization Studies) thesis defence

Aisha Aliyu, a Master of Science in Management candidate, will defend the thesis “Examining the combined effects of cyberbullying, ethical climate, and dark triad personality on work outcomes” on Friday, May 19 at 9 a.m. in virtual format.
