Business Breathers returns with tips on minimizing conflict, stress

After a brief hiatus, the Business Breathers professional development webinar series from the Goodman School of Business returns Wednesday, Feb. 8 with a talk by Ted Mouradian (BA ’99), President and co-founder of The 2% Factor Inc.

The seminar, which runs from 11 to 11:45 a.m., is facilitated by Goodman Group, the Goodman School of Business’ community-focused learning and development services provider, and will help participants learn to navigate dealing with difficult people while minimizing conflict and stress in their lives.

Mouradian’s session, “Who are these people and why do I have to be nice to them?”, will discuss his philosophy that “most solutions are simple, we complicate them.” The session aims to “empower participants to put the two per cent of people who add to their stress into perspective, learn how to neutralize their impact, navigate the stream to eliminate conflict and learn how to be in control without being controlling.”

Mouradian is an entrepreneur and author who has written four books on the management of professional and personal relationships and a weekly newspaper advice column called Workplace Wisdom. He has put his proprietary and acclaimed Co-operative Action Model into practice helping to create long-term, sustainable behavioural change for more than two decades.

The next webinar in the series will take place Wednesday, March 8 from 11 to 11:45 a.m. when Brock’s Vice-Provost, Teaching and Learning Rajiv Jhangiani will help participants learn how to leverage open educational resources to advance their organizational goals.

Everyone is welcome to attend the Business Breathers webinars. Anyone interested in joining is asked to register online. A confirmation email will provide a link to access the webinar at the date and time of the event.
