Brock community saddened by tragedy in Türkiye and Syria

The entire Brock University community is saddened at the loss of life and devastation caused by earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria this week, the terrible extent of which is still unfolding. We send our deepest condolences to our friends and colleagues from the region as they cope with this unimaginable tragedy.

The Brock International team has reached out directly to students with citizenship in either of the two impacted countries offering guidance, supports and resources to assist them during this difficult time. International students with questions or who are in need of additional assistance can contact intlstudents@brocku.ca

Extensive mental health, wellness and other supports are available to the entire Brock community. Students can access services, including personal counselling, via the Student Wellness and Accessibility Centre, while faculty and staff can access the Employee and Family Assistance Program.

Brock is a global institution with students, faculty and staff hailing from all around the world. Community members are not alone in times of crisis, and I encourage anyone who needs support to reach out.

Sincerely,

Lesley Rigg

President and Vice-Chancellor
