Brock talent takes the stage

Eleven students will showcase their skills beyond the classroom this week as they compete live in Brock’s Got Talent events hosted by the Brock University Students’ Union.

The winner of the competition will take home $250 in prizes and represent Brock in the Ontario-wide COCA’s Got Talent in March, hosted by the Canadian Organization of Campus Activities.

The first round of the competition on Tuesday, Jan. 31 saw a crowd of students turn out to cheer on their fellow Badgers. The second and final heat will happen live Thursday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m. in Union Station. Students can also watch the livestream and past episodes on BrockTV’s YouTube channel.

The top three contestants, as voted on by Brock students, will move on to compete in a red carpet event at Union Station on Thursday, Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Spots are limited for the finale, but students can reserve a seat on the BUSU website.

The finale will open with performances by professional magician and comedian Shaun Ferguson and past Brock’s Got Talent winners Senanya Jayatilake and Avery Turner, and feature a line-up of special guest judges.
