Graduate students invited to boost digital media skills with GRADflix workshops

EDITOR’S NOTE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, the in-person red carpet event on Wednesday, Feb. 15 has been cancelled. The People’s Choice Award vote and winner announcement will be released on the GRADflix web page.

Three upcoming workshops will help graduate students enhance their digital media skills for the recently launched GRADflix video research competition.

Organized by the Faculty of Graduate Studies, the workshops offer students an opportunity to prepare and polish their creative skills for the competition, which is offering four cash prizes ranging from $300 to $1,000.

Workshops begin this week, with each starting at 1 p.m. They include:

  • GRADflix 101 on Thursday, Nov. 24.
  • Using the Media to Amplify your Research Story, presented by Maryanne St. Denis, Manager, Content and Communications, on Thursday, Dec. 1.
  • Filmmaking in the Lab: Creating Engaging Videos from Start to Finish, presented by Mitch Morrone, Video Communications and Production Specialist, on Thursday, Dec. 8.

Graduate students are encouraged to RSVP for the workshops on ExperienceBU.

Drop-in support for the competition will also be available in January, with dates to be determined.

Students can find more information and stay up-to-date on the competition on the GRADflix web page.
