Women in Leadership to explore the ‘art of passing the mic’

Trecia McLennon will take a closer look at the saying “nothing about us without us” at Brock’s next Women in Leadership (WIL) meeting.

The Director of EDI (Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) Culture and Education in Brock’s Human Resources office, and staff Vice-Chair on the President’s Advisory Committee on Human Rights, Equity and Decolonization, will present on Tuesday, Oct. 18 from noon to 1 p.m. via Microsoft Teams.

She plans to help others think through “when it’s appropriate to wield or yield power” in her talk, “The Art of Passing the Mic.”

“As leaders, our capacity for deep listening can make or break opportunities to address representation, voice and who gets to speak freely — or speak at all,”  she says. “This talk will address creating the conditions for excellence and innovation to thrive through diverse, decolonized approaches.”

Details on this and other upcoming Women in Leadership sessions, including dates, descriptions and log-in details are available on the WIL website.

Women in Leadership is committed to supporting and advancing persons who identify as women to achieve and succeed in leadership. All are welcome. Individuals are welcome to join the WIL channel on Microsoft Teams or to contact Jeannie Mackintosh to be added to the WIL email distribution list.
