Brock community invited to custodian appreciation event

In recognition of National Custodian Day, Brock University’s Facilities Management team is hosting an appreciation event for its custodians — and all are welcome to join.

The Brock community is invited to drop by Pond Inlet on Monday, Oct. 3 between 1 and 4 p.m. for coffee and cookies and to chat with members of the University’s custodial team.

Jay Ismailovic, Manager, Custodial Services, says although he and his fellow managers regularly thank team members for their outstanding work, the event is a special way for the greater Brock community to recognize and celebrate the importance of custodians to the success of the organization.

“So much work goes on behind the scenes at Brock, 24-7 on all three shifts,” he says. “When much of the campus community was working from home during the pandemic, custodians were here taking extra steps to keep the University clean. Being a custodian is not an easy job, yet so many of our team members continue to go above and beyond daily and take pride in all they do to keep the University clean and safe for our students, employees and visitors.”
