Thesis defences Aug. 15 to Aug. 19

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Monday, Aug. 15 and Friday, Aug. 19.

Master of Science in Management (Marketing Stream) thesis defence

Adeoluwa Arowolo, a Master of Science in Management candidate, will defend the thesis “Virtual Teams: The Impact of Varying Levels of Virtuality On Project Team Performance” on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. in virtual format.

Master of Arts in Child and Youth Studies thesis defence

Brooklyn Ciccotelli, a Master of Arts in Child and Youth Studies candidate, will defend the thesis “Taking Care: Queer Belonging and Safety in the University” on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at 1 p.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee includes Marilyne Jollineau, Chair; Hannah Dyer, Supervisor and Graduate Program Director; Lauren Corman, External Examiner (Associate Professor, Department of Sociology, Brock University); and Shauna Pomerantz and Chelsea Jones, Committee Members.

PhD in Chemistry thesis defence

Aliona Baradzenka, a PhD in Chemistry candidate, will defend the thesis “Synthesis and Reactivity of Low Valent Silicon and Phosphorus Compounds” on Wednesday, Aug. 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in PLZ 600F.

The examination committee members are Brian Roy, Chair; Georgii Nikonov, Supervisor; John D. Protasiewicz, External Examiner (Case Western Reserve University); Maureen Reedyk, Internal Examiner; and Tony Yan and Costa Metallinos, Advisory Committee.

Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics thesis defence

Javon Luke, a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics candidate, will defend the thesis “Computerized Dynamic Assessment of Vocabulary Knowledge (CDA-V): Vocabulary Depth Assessment and Zone of Proximal Development” on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 10 a.m. in virtual format.
