The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Tuesday, Jan. 4 and Friday, Jan. 7.

PhD in Biological Sciences thesis defence

Fereshteh Moradi, a PhD candidate in Biological Sciences, will defend the thesis “Investigating the Effect of Cell culture Compositions on Mitochondrial Metabolism, Dynamics, and Transcriptome and Proteome of cells” on Thursday, Jan. 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee members are Brian Roy, Chair; Jeff Stuart, Supervisor; Jim Uniacke, External Examiner (University of Guelph); Val Andrew Fajardo, Internal Examiner; and Gaynor Spencer and Rebecca MacPherson, Advisory Committee.

PhD in Biotechnology thesis defence

Dhruval Kumar Joshi, a PhD candidate in Biotechnology, will defend the thesis “(A) Regulation of B-/Z-DNA transition in modified oligonucleotides. (B). Synthesis of cationic BODIPY analogues for antimicrobial and anticancer” on Friday, Jan. 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. in virtual format.
