Brock to streamline employee communications

Brock University is making some changes to the way it communicates to faculty and staff.

The SharePoint @ Brock intranet web page and The Weekly Update email newsletter were launched in 2018 as internal news sources and event listings for Brock employees. At the same time, The Brock News continued to be a main source of news for both internal and external audiences, with many staff and faculty receiving daily emails listing the top Brock News articles of the day.

Beginning Monday, Jan. 3, University Marketing and Communications will streamline communications to employees by posting all internal communications to The Brock News.

This will make it less confusing than having two sources of employee news, while also making it easier for faculty, staff and departments to share news on social media platforms.

The final Weekly Update email newsletter will be sent out Thursday, Dec. 16.

Moving forward, all news items will be posted to The Brock News and departments are encouraged to post all events — including those targeted primarily to employees — on ExperienceBU. New tags in ExperienceBU allow employees to filter events they are welcome to attend. Faculty/Staff welcome’ includes events open to the entire Brock community, including employees. ‘Faculty/Staff only’ includes events only available for employees to attend.

SharePoint @ Brock will continue to exist as a hub of information. Employees will be able to find frequently accessed links and RSS feeds of news and events.
