BUSU President hosts vaccine Q&A with Niagara Medical Officer of Health

After a string of questions from students regarding the effectiveness and safety of the COVID-19 vaccine, Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU) President Rafay Rehan went straight to the source for answers — conducting an interview with Niagara Region Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr. Mustafa Hirji.

“The best thing students can do to ensure a safe return to campus is to get vaccinated,” said Rehan. “In order to ease any hesitation students have about getting the vaccine, it is important we communicate true medical facts. We appreciate Dr. Hirji’s time in speaking with us and hope the information encourages students to get vaccinated.”

The 11-minute interview, which can be found on the Brock TV YouTube channel here and is embedded below, was conducted virtually with Dr. Hirji last week.

The questions are anonymous and gathered via Instagram accounts belonging to BUSU (@BrockBUSU) and Brock’s Student Wellness and Accessibility Centre (@BrockSWAC).

Students can ask further questions any time by emailing covid19nurse@brocku.ca and can book an appointment to get the COVID-19 vaccine at Brock through the Student Wellness and Accessibility Centre website.
