The following is a list of thesis defences taking place virtually from Monday, July 26 to Friday, July 30.

Applied Health Sciences PhD thesis defences

Jessica Murphy, a PhD candidate in Applied Health Sciences will defend her thesis “Exploring Mental Health in Sport: The Behaviors, Perspectives and Needs of Stakeholders.” on Tuesday, July 27 from 9 a.m. to noon in virtual format.

The examination committee members are Brian Roy, Chair: Philip Sullivan, Supervisor; Paul Gorczynski, External Examiner (University of Portsmouth); Terrance Wade, Internal Examiner; and Gail Frost, Karen Patte and Danielle S. Molnar, Advisory Committee.

Stephanie Beni, a PhD candidate in Applied Health Sciences will defend her thesis “Teachers’ Experiences of Implementing a Pedagogical Approach for Meaningful Physical Education.” on Thursday, July 29 from noon to 3 p.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee members are Brian Roy, Chair; Timothy Fletcher, Supervisor; Kevin Patton, External Examiner (California State University); Mary-Louise Vanderlee, Internal Examiner; and Maureen Connolly, Ken Lodewyk and Déirdre Ní Chróinín, Advisory Committee.

Applied Disability Studies Master of Arts thesis defence 

Arezu Alami, a Master of Arts in Applied Disability Studies candidate, will defend her thesis “Training Parents via Telehealth to Implement a Feeding Treatment” on Thursday, July 29 at 9:30 a.m. via video conference.

The examination committee includes Dawn Zinga, Chair; Kimberley Zonneveld, Supervisor; Mitch Fryling, External Examiner (Interim Associate Dean, Charter College of Education, California State University); Rosemary Condillac, Graduate Program Director; Valdeep Saini, Committee Member and Julie Koudys, Committee Member.

Master of Science thesis defence

Autumn Heyde, a Master of Science candidate in the Department of Biological Sciences, will defend her thesis “Crawford Lake Consumers: Water Column and Palynological Studies” on Friday, July 30 at 9 a.m. in virtual format.
