Longboat joins Brock Badgers as new men’s lacrosse head coach

The Brock Badgers have named Vince Longboat as head coach of the men’s lacrosse program.

“We are very excited to welcome Vince to the Badger family. He has worked tirelessly in the lacrosse community and brings a very strong track record as a player and coach,” said Melissa Krist, Director, Brock Sports. “Vince cultivates character, leadership and sportsmanship, and we look forward to the positive influence he’ll have on the growth of our student-athletes.”

Longboat brings a vast array of experience to the Badgers, with more than 20 years in the sport, including head coach of Six Nations Lacrosse in Oshweken, Ont., an assistant coach with Iroquois Nationals Lacrosse and general manager and assistant coach of the Six Nations Snipers men’s lacrosse club.

Longboat is a three-time Ontario champion as a head coach and won a provincial title as an assistant coach.

The Badgers are preparing to compete in the upcoming Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA) 2021 regular season. Each team will play six regular-season games beginning in the third week of September.

For this upcoming season, CUFLA is splitting its 14-team league into three divisions, rather than the previous two groups, to minimize the number of teams interacting.

Brock will compete in the West Division along with Western, Guelph, McMaster and Wilfrid Laurier.
