Brock University COVID-19 update for April 16

As of Friday, April 16, 65 of the cases involving Brock University residence students who were diagnosed with COVID-19 have been resolved. Two students remain in isolation on campus in relation to the outbreak.

Brock continues to work closely with Niagara Region Public Health after a COVID-19 outbreak was declared in student residences on Friday, March 26. The University is currently operating in Brock Stage 1 (Grey/Lockdown), with all classes being held online and common areas on campus closed until further notice.

Separate from the cases arising from the outbreak, a member of the Brock community tested positive for COVID-19. They were last on campus Friday, April 9 and the areas the person had visited are receiving additional cleaning. Contact tracing is currently underway.

The University reminds all members of the Brock community, students, faculty and staff, to respect and adhere to public health guidelines to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Any students who are experiencing symptoms or have a medical concern are asked to contact Student Health Services immediately at Covid19Nurse@Brocku.ca

Further updates will be provided as they become available.
