Reminder: Brock to test mass notification system on Thursday

Brock’s Campus Security Services (CSS) will conduct a live test of the App Armor Alert Mass Notification System on Thursday, Feb. 18 at noon.

Brock staff, faculty and students will receive two alert messages, the first indicating the start of the testing and the second indicating the testing is complete. The testing will be sent to many of the App Armor Alert Mass Notification System alerting mechanisms, including desktop notifications to Brock owned/managed computers; email; SMS messaging; CSS Facebook and Twitter feeds; and Brock desktop and office phones.

The upcoming tests will involve the entire Brock community, including those working remotely using Brock owned or managed devices.

Users can press the acknowledge option to end the alert. Alternatively, the alert screen will automatically disappear once the test alerts have been deactivated by CSS.

All other notification methods will not require any action by the subscriber.

Questions on the testing process can be directed to Campus Security Inspector Karl Thorp at kthorp@brocku.ca
