Podcast features extended conversation about Indigenous activism

The final two episodes of Foreword will feature extended interviews with two podcast guests from earlier in the season.

Episode 7, being released Wednesday, Aug. 19, will feature a nearly hour-long conversation with Jason Black, the 2020 Fulbright Research Chair in Transnational Studies with the Centre for Canadian Studies at Brock University, recorded earlier this year. The conversation includes discussion of important concepts that come up in many academic disciplines and popular media, such as coloniality, decolonization, and identity. The conversation explores why the language and imagery we use to talk about Indigenous issues matters and how non-Indigenous folks can engage with these issues. Black also shares how he became interested in activism around the Indigenous mascot controversy and the nature of a Fulbright scholarship.

Episodes are released every Wednesday on AppleGoogle Podcasts and Podbean. Transcripts are being made available on the Faculty of Humanity website.
