Thesis defences — May 11 to 16

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place virtually from Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 16.

Master of Science thesis defence

Margaret Hughes, a Master of Science candidate in the Department of Biological Sciences, will defend her thesis titled “Influence of perimeter plantings on plant and invertebrate diversity in vineyard ecosystems” on Wednesday, May 13, at 2 p.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee includes Cheryl McCormick, Chair; Liette Vasseur, Supervisor; Lesley G. Campbell, External Examiner (Ryerson University); and Miriam Richards and Wendy McFadden-Smith, Committee Members.

Master of Child and Youth Studies thesis defence

Nicole Mansell, a master of Arts in Child and Youth Studies candidate, will defend the thesis “Educational Professionals Awareness, Identification, and Support of Young Caregivers” on Thursday, May 14 at 10 a.m. via video conference.

The examination committee includes Dawn Zinga, Chair; Heather Chalmers, Supervisor; Andrea Breen, External Examiner (Associate Professor, Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition, University of Guelph); Shauna Pomerantz, Graduate Program Director; Heather Lawford, Committee Member; and Ayda Tekok-Kilic, Committee Member.
