The following is a list of thesis defences taking place at Brock from Monday, Jan. 20 to Friday, Jan. 24.

All are open for the University community to attend.

Applied Linguistics master’s thesis defence

Master of Arts – Applied Linguistics student Jordan Gallant will defend the thesis “Co-activation in the Bilingual Lexicon” on Friday, Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. in WH 147.

The examination committee includes Dawn Zinga, Chair; Gary Libben, Supervisor; Mary Grantham O’Brien, External Examiner (Professor, School of Languages, Linguistics, Literatures and Culture, University of Calgary); Ron Thomson, Graduate Program Director and Committee Member; Sid Segalowitz, Committee Member.

Child and Youth Studies master’s thesis defence

Master’s in Child and Youth Studies student Jane McClure will defend the thesis “A Less Simple View of Reading: The Role of Inhibition and Working Memory in the Decoding-Comprehension Relationship” on Friday, Jan. 24 at 1 p.m. in WH 147.

The examination committee includes Dawn Zinga, Chair; Jan Frijters, Supervisor; Rhonda Martinussen, External Examiner (Associate Professor, Applied Psychology and Human Development, University of Toronto); Shauna Pomerantz, Graduate Program Director; Erin Panda, Committee Member and Ayda Tekok-Kilic, Committee Member.
