Be cautious about theft around the holidays

For many, the holidays are a joyous time of year, but it’s also a time when police and Campus Security see an increase in incidents of theft.

The Brock community is reminded to be vigilant and aware as the holidays approach. Don’t become distracted in your surroundings whether at the gym, your office, residence or study areas within Brock. Leaving things unlocked or unattended can make you an easy target for thieves.

Remember to secure your valuables, use locks on lockers in the Walker Complex changerooms and ensure office doors are locked at the end of the day. When parking vehicles, make sure valuables aren’t visible and that doors are locked.

Campus Security Services (CSS) suggests that if you see something, say something. If something looks suspicious or you’re the victim of a crime, contact CSS at x3200 or visit the office in Kenmore Centre. Campus Security is available 24 hours a day. If you haven’t already done so, download the Brock Safety app for use on your mobile device to receive safety alerts and information.
