Power restored after blackout hits campus

Amid high winds Thursday night, power was restored to most of Brock University campus around 10 pm after a power outage left parts of south St Catharines in the dark for more than half an hour.

Crews at Brock are working to restore power to parts of Quarryview Residence and at 573A Glenridge, which remained dark after power was restored to the rest of campus.

Anyone on campus who has security concerns should contact Campus Security at ext 3200.

A weather alert from Environment Canada said high winds with gusts up to 90 km/h are expected to continue through the night, and would start to ease on Friday.
