Chancellor welcomes students as Fall Term begins

The following message is extended to all Brock students from University Chancellor Shirley Cheechoo:

To all students, I sincerely welcome you to Brock University.

For many of you, today is the first day of university, and in a new environment.  Everyone here understands if you are nervous. To the many upper-year students out there, remember to put out a helping hand. Let’s help our first-year students find their way through campus.

Brock is a caring University that focuses on student success, and I am certain that our faculty and staff members will seek to support students and address any questions you may have.  When it comes to quality of student experience, Maclean’s magazine ranks Brock in the top 3 across Canada, in our category of ‘Comprehensive Universities’. We do not want any student to be left behind.

And to the students, no matter how much support parents, teachers or faculty give, if you realize your responsibilities as a learner, and put in the hard work, you will surely succeed.

You are the future of this country we call Canada. Have a great year, and say ‘hello’ when you see me on campus.

Sincerely,

Shirley Cheechoo, Chancellor

Brock University
