Power disruption to affect parts of main campus Saturday

A number of buildings on Brock University’s main campus will experience a power disruption on Saturday, July 13.

Power will be out from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Kenmore Centre, Harrison Hall, Lowenberger Residence, Rosalind Blauer Centre for Childcare and the Lot D parking kiosk.

During the disruption, access to the affected buildings will be restricted, with the exception of the Kenmore Centre.

The outage is due to the ongoing Village Road and Lot S construction project, which requires the relocation and connection of several hydro transformers in order to proceed.

Anyone working in the affected buildings is asked to ensure sensitive equipment, computers and printers are powered off for Saturday.

Building occupants will also be notified as details become available regarding a second, shorter power disruption scheduled to take place later this month.

Any questions or concerns about Saturday’s outage can be sent to Project Manager John Rizzo at x6456, Scott Kernicky, Manager of Electrical Services, at x6201 or Facilities Management Customer Service at fm@brocku.ca or x3717.
