Free yoga offered on campus Wednesday mornings

The Brock community is invited to wake up early and practise the downward dog.

A free ‘rise and shine’ yoga class will take place every Wednesday morning throughout July and August from 7:30 to 8 a.m. in the outdoor courtyard between the Walker Sports Complex and South Block.

“It’s a great way to start the day,” said Eric Walter, Brock Recreation Fitness Manager. “Yoga is about setting intentions and maintaining focus. Something like this in the middle of the week is a nice reset. Plus, the session is just long enough to feel the benefits while still being able to make it to class or work on time.”

The flow-style yoga class can accommodate all levels of experience and will be led by a certified yoga instructor each week. Mats will be provided for those wishing to borrow them.

“With the running water of the pond and the sun coming up over the campus buildings to the east, it is one of the more tranquil settings for a yoga class on campus,” said Walter. “It’s something people should experience while we still have access to that area of the courtyard.”

Free yoga classes will be offered every Wednesday morning until The Zone construction project restricts use of the space.
