Goodman researcher to present on mining legislation

The Canadian government is working towards increasing transparency in the mining industry with the creation of the Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act (ESTMA).

In this week’s instalment of the Goodman Luncheon Speaker Series, Associate Professor of Accounting Staci Kenno will discuss the implications of this act as she presents the findings of her co-authored paper, “The Impact of ESTMA on Reputation and Investment.”

The talk will take place Friday, March 1 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in Goodman School of Business Room 205.

Kenno is the recipient of the 2018 Goodman Department Research of the Year Award for Accounting, based on her recent research and contributions.

The business school’s speaker series provides an informal opportunity to listen to and discuss recent advances in research, teaching and practices with business colleagues. Goodman faculty, staff and graduate students are invited to attend.

Brock community members interested in attending the talk can email Jennifer Brisson at jbrisson@brocku.ca to reserve a seat.
