Researcher trying to pin down why hockey fans in Red Deer support Oilers or Flames: A study by Brock graduate student Blair Cipywnyk about what drives hockey fans in Red Deer, Alta., to cheer for either the Edmonton Oilers or Calgary Flames given the franchises’ equidistant proximity to the city was featured in a Red Deer Advocate article.
