Series of laptop thefts prompts warning from Campus Security

A number of laptop computers were stolen from students in the James A. Gibson Library Wednesday, Nov. 28.

Brock’s Campus Security Services is reminding students and others not to leave laptops, tablets or other valuable items unattended, even for short periods of time anywhere on campus.

Campus Security is increasing patrols in the library to deter theft, and is leaving bookmarks on unattended items that read “if I had time to leave this, a thief had time to take your things.”

Anyone missing their laptop should first check with the library circulation desk to determine if it has been turned over to them. If not, they should contact Campus Security at x3200 to report the theft.
