Thesis defences — Jan. 22 to 26

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place at Brock from Jan. 22 to 26.

All are open for the University community to attend.

Child and Youth Studies MA thesis defence

Child and Youth Studies student Cayleigh Sexton will defend the thesis, “Caregiver Stress: An Exploration of Stressors and Coping Strategies among Young Carers,” on Monday, Jan. 22 at 9 a.m. in WH 147.

The examination committee includes Dawn Zinga, Chair; Andrea Breen, External Examiner (University of Guelph); Heather Chalmers, Supervisor; Heather Lawford (Bishop’s University) and Heather Ramey (Humber College), Committee Members.

PhD in Educational Studies dissertation defences

Education student Susan Gizella Boyko will defend the dissertation “Because It Breaks Your Heart: A Study of Transformational Learning Among Adults With Cancer” on Monday, Jan. 22 at 2 p.m. in WH 147.

The examination committee includes Ebru Ustundag, Chair; Carl Leggo, External Examiner (University of British Columbia); June Corman, Internal Examiner; Sharon Abbey, Supervisor; and Peter Vietgen, Ruth McQuirter-Scott and Joan Chambers (Lakehead University), Committee Members.

 

Education student Owen Webb will defend the dissertation “Leading Restorative Change: A Case Study of Implementing and Sustaining Restorative Culture in an Ontario Middle School” on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at  2 p.m. in WH 147.

The examination committee includes Diane Dupont, Chair; Kristin Reimer, External Examiner (Monash University); Shannon Moore, Internal Examiner; Julian Kitchen, Supervisor; Catherine Hands, Committee Member; and Finney Cherian, Committee Member (University of Windsor).
