New date for car smash event

The Charity Car Smash event scheduled to hit Brock Wednesday has been postponed due to inclement weather.

Organized by Student Life and Community Experience, the event will now be held Wednesday, March 29  from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The car smash will take place in the field in front of Schmon Tower and will serve as an awareness and fundraising campaign against impaired driving.

The event is a collaboration between SLCE, the Brock University Students’ Union, BADD and Advocacy, and MADD Canada.

The vehicle to be smashed is being donated by Jamie Lundy of JJL Mobile Auto Parts, who also donates vehicles to fire departments in Niagara to support their training efforts.

Anyone interested in taking part can make a donation and sign a waiver when they arrive to the event.
