Seminar offers tips on staying positive during the holidays

The upcoming year-end holiday period is welcomed by most people as a time of celebration, reflection and connecting with loved ones. But it is also a time of year when people can experience a high incidence of depression.

On Tuesday Nov. 29, Brock’s offices of Health Management will be offering a free seminar on seasonal stress. Hosted by the support and counselling organization Shepell, the discussion will examine strategies for remaining positive and energized throughout the holiday period.

The seminar offers information on seasonal changes on physiology and our responses, provides exercises to promote mental and physical wellbeing and also offers tips on how to improve sleep and eating habits throughout the festive season.

The Nov. 29 seminar takes place from 11 a.m. to noon in Welch Hall 203, and is limited to 30 participants. Brock staff and faculty can register at this online link.
