Flags at half-mast for annual Day of Mourning

Flags at Brock University were flying at half-mast Thursday, April 28 to mark the annual Day of Mourning for fallen workers.

On April 28 nationwide, we pause to remember workers who have lost their lives, or been injured at work.

In addition, we stop to pay our respects to workers who have suffered from work-related illnesses.

This day of remembrance was declared by The Canadian Labour Conference in 1984. Not only do we stop to think about workers, but we also reflect on the impact tragic workplace events, incidents and illnesses have on families, friends and colleagues.

To show our honour and support, flags at Brock University were positioned at half-mast.

Please take some time on April 28 to reflect.

Remember, we all play an important role in health and safety.

Thank you for helping to make Brock a safe place to work and study.
