Brock Sport Management alumni to offer perspectives on Olympic Games

The Olympic Games mean many things to many people. Organizers, athletes, marketers, sponsors: they all have a different perspective on the Olympics.

With Rio 2016 fast approaching, Brock University will host a panel discussion entitled Olympic and Paralympic Games: Five Rings, Five Perspectives Thursday, March 3 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Market Hall.

The panel, which is open to everyone, is part of the Brock University Sport Management department’s annual Alumni Day.

Five Rings, Five Perspectives includes five SPMA alumni with their own unique take on the Olympic and Paralympic Games. They include:

  • Joel Dembe (Paralympian, National Ambassador at Tennis Canada)
  • Danielle D’Lima-Freeman (Olympic Games Sponsorship Specialist)
  • Colin Freeman (Manager, Marketing Partnerships at Canadian Olympic Committee)
  • Erin Mathany (Director of Strategic Partnerships at Canadian Olympic Committee)
  • Greg Wamsley (Event and Operations Professional, Baku 2015/TO 2015/London 2012/Vancouver 2010 Games)

Held each spring, the Sport Management Alumni Day allows current Brock students to network and learn from prominent SPMA grads. This year’s event also features sessions examining sport finance, organizational behaviour, sport policy and leadership in sport management.
