Registration has officially opened for Brock Days – the University’s homecoming and community celebration – taking place Friday, Sept. 21 to Sunday, Sept. 30.
This annual event is the perfect opportunity for the Brock community to come together — students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Brock Days is anchored by two festivities-filled weekends — Alumni Weekend and Community Weekend — and offers engaging student events.
Alumni Weekend happens Sept. 21 to 23 and is a great opportunity for graduates to reconnect, rediscover and remember.
There are numerous events taking place, such as the annual Alumni Association Golf Tournament, “Back-to-Class” breakout sessions, the prestigious Fine Food, Fine Wine, Fine Art culinary experience, alumni pub night and a Niagara-on-the-Lake alumni wine tour.
This year’s Alumni Weekend keynote speaker is Peter Goodspeed (BA ’78), a Brock grad and award-winning journalist with almost four decades of experience. Goodspeed will share his extraordinary insights into war correspondence and the future of international reporting.
Community Weekend runs Sept. 28 to 30 and features the much-anticipated and messiest tradition at Brock, the annual Grape Stomp. Other highlights include the Niagara Wine Festival Grande Parade and an Isaac’s Army ‘hype day’ for Brock rugby and lacrosse.
Student events will happen throughout both weekends, including a pub night, Brock Cares day of service, Past is Present community scavenger hunt and many athletic events.
“I had a great time at Brock Days. I’m so proud to be a Badger,” said Jennifer Hall (BTS ’08).
So why not call your intramural buddies, email your University roommates, update your friends on Facebook and tweet your followers to ask them to join you in celebrating Brock Days 2012.
