Students in residence got a boost this month in the form of the second annual Exam Pump Up.

Organized by the Department of Residences’ Dons of Academics, the event Dec. 2 got students motivated for studying. The featured speaker was Thomas S. C. Farrell, professor of Applied Linguistics.

It is important for Brock’s professors to give their time to help motivate students for exams, Farrell said. He encouraged students to not give up and offered some exam study tips and tricks for how to stay on task in the face of distractions.

Students received exam care packages with exam-writing tools.

Exams run from Dec. 7 to 20. Residences close on Wednesday, Dec. 21 and will reopen on Sunday, Jan. 8.
