2011

September
Thursday,
September 1
 First day of Fall/Winter Session, Teacher Education Program only.
Monday,
September 5
 Labour Day. University closed. Library closed. Residence move in date.
Thursday,
September 8
 First day of Fall/Winter Session, duration 1 and duration 2, day and evening sections (undergraduate program).
Friday,
September 23		 Last day for duration 1 and duration 2 late registration and course changes without permission of the instructor. Brock Registration System closes for duration 1 and duration 2 adds; last day to drop courses without financial penalty. After this date, manual course change requests are required.
October
**December examination schedule (D1, D2) posted around the end of the month**
Monday,
October 10		 Thanksgiving. University closed; library closed. (See December 1)
Saturday,
October 22
 Fall Convocation
November
Friday,
November 4
 Last date for withdrawal without academic penalty and last day to change from credit to audit status for duration 2 courses without academic penalty.
Sunday,
November 6
 Fall Preview Day.
December
Thursday,
December 1
 Last day of lectures, Fall Term, duration 2 courses. Make up day for Thanksgiving Monday, October 10.
Friday, December 2 and Monday, December 5
 Extended Fall term dates for Science and Applied Health Sciences course labs; at the discretion of the instructor.
Tuesday,
December 6
 Snow day/reading day. A snow day will be used to cover classes missed because of adverse weather (if needed). Otherwise, it will be a reading day. The day of the week missed will determine the replacement schedule for classes.
Wednesday, December 7 to Tuesday, December 20 Progress examinations for duration 1 courses and final examinations for duration 2 courses.
Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at noon until Sunday January 8, 2012 Residences are closed.
Friday, December 23, 2011 at 430 pm until Tuesday, January 3, 2012 Christmas and New Year holiday. University closed; library closed. Depending on operational needs, there may be limited service available during this time. Please check our website at: brocku.ca for a list of openings and hours.

2012

January
Tuesday, January 3
 University reopens. Winter term resumes, Teacher Education Program.
Monday, January 9
 First day of Winter Term, undergraduate programs.
Friday, January 20 Last day for duration 3 late registration and course changes without permission of the instructor. Brock Registration System closes for duration 3 adds; last day to drop courses without financial penalty. After this date, manual course change requests are required. Last date for withdrawal without academic penalty and last day to change from credit to audit status for duration 1 courses.
February
**April examination schedule (D1, D3) posted around the middle of the month**
Wednesday, February 1 Last day for receipt of applications to graduate at Spring Convocation.
Monday, February 20 Family Day; University Closed.
Monday - Friday, February 20-24 Reading Week. No classes will be held in undergraduate programs.
Tuesday, February 21
 President's Holiday; Administrative offices closed, Registrar's Office and Library open.
March
Friday, March 9
 Last date for withdrawal without academic penalty and last day to change from credit to audit status for duration 3 courses.
Sunday, March 4
 Spring Open House.
Monday, March 12 to Friday, March 16 Spring break. No classes will be held in the Teacher Education Program.
April
Friday, April 6
 Good Friday, University Closed. (See April 9)
Monday, April 9
 Last Day of Fall/Winter Session duration 1 and duration 3 classes.  Make up day for Good Friday, April 6. The schedule will be that of a Friday.
Tuesday, April 10 and Wednesday, April 11
 Reading Day.  A snow day may be used to cover classes missed because of adverse weather (if needed).  The day of the week missed will determine the replacement schedule of classes.
Thursday, April 12 - Wednesday, April 25 Final examinations for duration 1 and duration 3 courses.
