President Jack Lightstone was quoted in the St. Catharines Standard and Niagara Falls Review article “Innovation and community involvement key to success” on Feb. 12. The article quoted Lightstone’s speech for the Business Education Council’s Partners Breakfast in Niagara Falls.
The Brock Leaders Citizenship Society and its Valentine’s Day prom for senior citizens were the focus of the article “Students with a heart brighten Valentine’s Day for seniors” in the St. Catharines Standard on Feb. 14.
Peter Vietgen, associate professor in the Faculty of Education, was quoted in the St. Catharines Standard article “Artist shows arena as humble and holy” on Feb. 11. In the article, Vietgen is commenting on Jason Dwyer’s painting Hockey Shrine.
John Sainsbury, professor of History, wrote the opinion piece “Rare symbol of harmony” that appeared in the St. Catharines Standard on Feb. 7. The article was about the revolution in Egypt.
Peter Yannopoulos, associate professor of Marketing, was quoted in the Welland Tribune article “A trend to one-stop shopping” on Feb. 5.
Sid Segalowitz, professor of Psychology, wrote a letter to the editor in the Globe and Mail on Feb. 3 in response to the article “U.S. Moves to protect its peewees.” In the letter, Segalowitz says the dangers of concussions are similar for 13 to 16-year-olds as they are for younger children.
Ernest Biktimorov, associate professor of Finance, was quoted in the article “Super Bowl Indicator predicts big win for U.S. stocks” in the Toronto Sun on Feb. 2. The article was reprinted in several other Sun Media papers.
Mohamed Elhadidi, a visiting international scholar from Egypt, was quoted in the articles “All eyes on Egypt” for the St. Catharines Standard and “We’re not certain what will happen next” in the Niagara Falls Review on Feb. 1.
