David Schimmelpenninck van der Oye recently presented three talks. On Nov. 18, he read “Le Caucase dans l’imaginaire littéraire russe” to the Caucasus Seminar at the Centre d’´Études des mondes russe, caucasien et centre-européen (CERCEC) of the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris. The following month, on Dec. 15, he read “Wat is het Russiche Oriëntalisme?” (What Is Russian Orientalism?) at Leiden University and the following day, “Azië in de Russische Gedachte” (Asia in the Russian Mind) at Groningen University.
