Travel Tuesday: Latin America
As fall temperatures arrive in Canada, we turn our attention to our partner schools in Latin America. Goodman has just solidified a brand new partnership with a partner school in Peru in addition to a previous partnership in Mexico.
Why go to Latin America?
Mexico and Peru may not be the first place you think of when considering an exchange, but that is a great reason to go. One of the benefits of studying abroad is that it helps differentiate you from your peers. Traveling to Latin America offers the chance to take the road less traveled.
There are a number of reasons why studying in Latin America could be a perfect experience for you.
Our partners offer a wide array of business courses taught in English as well as courses to help improve your Spanish language skills. The ability to speak or learn a new language is a valuable skill that future employers will appreciate. Learning Spanish is not required but this is a great opportunity to learn the basics.
Living in Latin America is a very different experience from life in Canada. Mexico and Peru have open, welcoming cultures and the locals will be excited to share their rich culture and food. Dancing, feasting, siestas and fiestas are a way of life in these vibrant countries.
In case you still need another reason to head south on exchange, the food, entertainment, travel and general living expenses are very affordable in comparison to life around Brock.
If safety is a concern, know that our partner schools are located in safe areas and a good orientation combined with smart precautions should help you have an enjoyable time..
Partner Schools
Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico (ITAM)
ITAM is situated in the heart of Mexico City, a metropolis rich in history, culture and food. The school has a student body of more than 6,000 students. It is one of the top universities in Mexico and continues to develop its academics, network and global reputation.
Universidad del Pacifico is located in the beautiful modern city of Lima. Studying in Peru gives you the chance to visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu.
Universidad del Pacifico is Goodman’s newest exchange partner. There is an opportunity for a student to lead the way as the first to go on exchange from Brock.
