Stone outer walls being put into place

As we move further into summer, the progress on the #GoodmanExpansion keeps getting more and more impressive. Check out how this beautiful stonework will form the exterior wall for portions of the expansion. We might be biased, but we think it’s going to look pretty great.

Sign the last beam of the Goodman Expansion

We’re planning a signature event for Feb. 16.

Sign your name on the last steel beam that will be installed as part of the Goodman expansion project.

You can be a part of Goodman history by joining us as we immortalize the Goodman community in a group photo that we’ll include in our time capsule. Planned for installation inside the atrium, the time capsule will be reopened on Brock University’s 100th anniversary in 2064.

Then, stay for hot chocolate and cookies in front of Schmon Tower where you can sign your name on the last steel beam to leave your mark on Goodman’s structural support for years to come.

Date: Thursday, Feb. 16

Time: Meet at 11 a.m. for group photo; beam will be available for signing until 1 p.m.

Location: In front of Schmon Tower

Light refreshments will be served.

There will be a separate opportunity after Reading Week to watch the signed beam being raised and installed in a topping out ceremony which will mark the completion of the construction project’s steel framework. We will email you the details when they are confirmed.

Coming? Let us know on our Facebook event.

Nerves of steel

Ironworkers Kale General and Daniel Puentes, of Niagara Rigging & Erecting Co. in Niagara Falls, walk a fine line 40 feet above the ground as they assemble the framework of what will be the atrium in the new home of the Goodman School of Business. The $22-million project, which will incorporate 79,000 square feet of new and renovated space, is scheduled for completion by December 2018.

What would you like to see added to the Goodman time capsule?

We’re putting together a time capsule to capture what 2016 has been like for Goodman. The capsule will be sealed in our brand new atrium and will be reopened on Brock University’s 100th anniversary in 2064.

We encourage everyone – Goodman students, faculty, staff and alumni – to get involved by providing suggestions of what you would like the future Goodman School of Business to know about Goodman today.

There are several ways you can participate.

The BSA and GBC will be hosting tables in Taro Hall’s third floor hallway. Just drop by during the following dates and make your suggestion:

Wednesday, Nov. 23, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Monday, Nov. 28, 12 noon – 2 p.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 30, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Monday, Dec. 5, 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 8, 5 p.m. – 6:50 p.m.

You can also watch Goodman social media channels for an opportunity to post your suggestions!

Rules:

  • All items should be a reflection of Goodman, Brock or general life in 2016.
  • A committee made up of students, faculty and staff will review all suggestions and make the final determination of what will be included based on the number of suggestions, space and availability.

This is a joint project by Goodman students, faculty, staff and alumni.
