Dr. Debra Harwood is the co-designer of the ECE degree program at Brock University in the Niagara Region of Ontario. Here, she also conducts ECE community-based research, specifically focusing on the young child and their worlds, educator practices & professionalism. Currently focused on shifting educators’ perceptions outdoors, another recent project involved a three-year study of young children and their educators’ play and learning experiences within a forest. Debra can often be found outdoors with university students, educators, and/or children from the community exploring ways of thinking, being, and doing.
