Parts of Brock will close this weekend

A number of buildings at Brock’s St. Catharines campus will be shut down this weekend.

The Mackenzie Chown complex (all blocks), Inniskillin Hall and the Alumni Greenhouse will be closed from 10 p.m. on Friday, May 13, to 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, for planned campus-wide maintenance and utility upgrades. All doors will be locked and card access will be unavailable during these times.

For emergency-only access to any of these areas, please contact Campus Security (905-688-5550 x3200) to make arrangements.

The following areas on campus will also not have network (internet, email) during the shutdown:

  • all Residences (Decew, Vallee, Earp, Village, Quarry View)
  • the Kenmore Centre
  • Harrison Hall

Campus-wide wireless access will also be unavailable.

There will also be no phone services at Quarry View Residence.

In all affected areas, faculty and staff are reminded to clean out fridges prior to leaving for the weekend and remove anything that could spoil.

In the unlikely event that power cannot be restored to these areas by 10 a.m. on Saturday, information will be posted on the Brock homepage (under “News”). Every effort will be made to communicate this decision by 7 a.m.

The rest of the University’s main and east campuses will have normal power and be open as usual.
