Brock’s nursing learning resource centre’s simulation lab took centre stage in the article “Fake patients aid real students” in the St. Catharines Standard on March 15. The article also appeared in the Welland Tribune. Resource centre co-ordinator Elizabeth Horsley was quoted in the article.

Deborah Zinni, Associate Dean of Business, appeared in the article “Details should be disclosed: expert” about Niagara Health System severances. The article appeared in the Niagara Falls Review, St. Catharines Standard and Welland Tribune on March 19.

David Siegel, Political Science professor, was quoted in the article “Contempt finding won’t hurt Nicholson: prof” in the Niagara Falls Review and St. Catharines Standard on March 22.

John Kaethler, director of International Services and Programs Abroad, was quoted in the article “I don’t know why this happened to Japan” in the St. Catharines Standard on March 25. Several Japanese students at Brock were also quoted in the article.

Antonia Mantonakis, assistant professor of Marketing, was quoted in “30-Second Spots: Dispatches from the world of advertising” in the Globe and Mail on March 25. Mantonakis discovered that leaving a pause between a tagline and a brand name in an ad can enhance brand recognition and preference.

Brock’s Faculty of Business was at the centre of an article “Many benefits to hiring a co-op student”, which appeared across the canada.com network. It also appeared in several newspapers, including the Ottawa Citizen, Montreal Gazette, Regina Leader-Post and the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix.

John Menzies, Earth Sciences professor, was quoted in the article “Protect glacier-age landmark: Local politicians” in the St. Catharines Standard on March 29. In the article, Menzies comments on the Fonthill Kame.

Garth Stevenson, Political Science professor, appeared in the article “Is coalition bogeyman of federal election?” in the Niagara Falls Review on March 29. He was also quoted in the article “Talk of coalition dominates early days of campaign” and “Election shouldn’t undermine economic recovery: prof” in the St. Catharines Standard on March 30. Stevenson also appeared on CKTB.

Livianna Tussutti, Political Science associate professor, appeared in the article “Education key to increasing voter turnout: Brock prof” in the Niagara Falls Review on March 30.

President Jack Lightstone appeared in the article “Ontario invests in education” in the Niagara Falls Review on March 30. He also appeared in the article “Place matters, says university president” in the Welland Tribune that day.

Stephen Cheung, professor of Physical Education and Kinesiology, and members of his research team were quoted in the article “Brock’s cool fashion experiment” in the St. Catharines Standard on March 30.

Doug Hagar, research assistant with the Niagara Community Observatory, was quoted in the St. Catharines Standard and Welland Tribune article “Can Facebook win candidates’ votes?” on March 31, as well as “An election in 140 characters” in the Hamilton Spectator on April 2.

President Jack Lightstone published an editorial entitled “Design regional economic development agency to make Niagara ‘community of innovation'” in the St. Catharines Standard, and also as “Community of innovation” in Niagara This Week.

Kevin Gosine, Sociology assistant professor, was quoted in the article “Board continues to accept applications for DSBN Academy” in the St. Catharines Standard on April 1. The article is about Gosine’s Pathways to Education research.

A speaker at Brock’s Thinking About Animals conference appeared in the article “Big black dog blues” in the St. Catharines Standard, Niagara Falls Review and Welland Tribune. News of the conference was also on CKTB and CHCH.

Ernest Biktimirov, associate professor of Finance, was quoted in the article “Does your investment adviser put you first?” in the Globe and Mail on April 1.

Ian Brindle, Vice President Research, was profiled in the article “In his element” in the St. Catharines Standard on April 2.
