Brock University Students' Union has funded two new St. Catharines Transit bus routes to help students get to class.

St. Catharines Transit is gearing up for the start of another school year with two new bus routes to Brock University, thanks to funding from Brock University Students’ Union.

A shuttle from Towpath Road in Thorold to Brock University and an additional bus running from the Pen Centre to Brock University during peak times will help make getting to classes less stressful for students.

“This is good news for bus commuters living in Thorold and along Glendale Avenue,” said Phil Porter, marketing and customer service supervisor for the St. Catharines Transit Commission. “These are services students have been asking for. We’ve been working with the Brock University Students’ Union on making this year’s commute to Brock a little easier.”

The new routes will shuttle students from their stop to the university within 15 minutes. Route 123 Towpath-Brock will operate every 30 minutes Monday to Friday from 7:35 a.m. until 6:35 p.m. The route 124 Pen Centre-Brock shuttle operates Monday to Friday from 7:35 a.m. until 8:50 a.m. and 1:50 p.m. until 5:35 p.m.

The routes start on Tuesday. Detailed route maps and bus schedules are available at from the transit commission.

How about getting a bus route from north st.catharines directly to brock? That would be a good start instead of wasting money on new routes there. How about you have better hours for the Confed and Tupper bus.

Are there any plans to add an additional Brock Bus service during the Fall and Winter semesters that would service Woodrow and Rockwood area similar to the West/Brock/Commuter that services the Rykert and West area?

It would be great if the 124 continued along Glendale/Woodrow/Rockwood and Merritt to the Pen Centre or another Brock Shuttle was added to service this area. The scheduling for the #4 or #124 to the #11 or #18 does not line up with waits of up to 20 minutes between buses during winter months.
