The Brock Leaders Citizenship Society (BLCS) held its third-annual Flora Broley Memorial Ball Hockey Tournament the weekend of March 31 at the Niagara Ball Hockey Club in St. Catharines. The annual event raises money for the Alzheimer Society Niagara Foundation.

This year’s tournament, which involved five months of planning and fundraising, raised a total of $7,361. This is more than $2,000 compared to what they raised for the local charity last year.

Over the course of the two-day tournament, a total of 26 teams competed against one another. The event also featured skills competitions, a 50/50 draw and numerous other prize giveaways.

In the end, the Goon Squad faced off against Ramped Up in the B pool finals, while the Niagara North Stars and the Gale Street Hookers competed in the A pool championship game.

After two strenuous battles, the Goon Squad and Niagara North Stars were crowned this year’s champs.

This amazing achievement was made possible by the combined effort of the dedicated volunteers, spirited participants and faithful sponsors. The BLCS would like to extend its sincere thanks to all donors and contributors.
