Brock University continues to work towards a new collective agreement with CUPE 4207, Unit 1, which represents contract instructors, teaching assistants, course coordinators, marker-graders and lab demonstrators.
The University and CUPE 4207-1 have met three times in mediation and have additional dates scheduled on Sept. 29 and Oct. 2. The Union has committed to providing a minimum of five days’ notice to the University should they elect to set a strike deadline.
The University remains hopeful of achieving a new agreement through the collective bargaining process. The University is focused on reaching an agreement that reflects the important work members of the bargaining unit perform, while respecting the current financial and fiscal realities facing the University and the broader public sector in Ontario.
