As of 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, individuals aged 18 and over in 2021 across Ontario are eligible to book a COVID-19 vaccine appointment.
- If you will be residing in Niagara Region:
- Students without an Ontario health card (OHIP) may book an appointment through a local pharmacy. With pharmacies now offering Pfizer and Moderna, this may be the earliest available opportunity for you to receive a first dose.
- Students with an Ontario health card (OHIP) may also book using the provincial booking system.
- To be contacted when there are extra doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at the end of the day, register for the standby list.
- If you will be residing out of Niagara Region:
- You should book your vaccination appointments based on where you live. You can find all pharmacy locations here: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/vaccine-locations.
- For out-of-Ontario international students without Ontario health cards, please first consider booking an appointment through a local pharmacy.
- If you have received a first dose prior to arriving in Canada:
-
- If the first dose is a vaccine product approved in Canada, you can get your second dose in Canada;
- As of June 4, if your first dose was the AstraZeneca vaccine, for your second dose you can choose to receive either:
- a second dose of AstraZeneca
- one of the mRNA vaccines (Pfizer or Moderna)
*You can get either of these options 12 weeks after your first dose.
- If the first dose is a vaccine product NOT approved in Canada, you will need to receive a brand new first dose of Health Canada approved product.
- Also, please feel free to read the FAQs on the COVID Vaccine in Niagara and to access COVID-19 documents in languages other than English or French!
