We are currently recruiting perfectionistic teens and their parents to participate in our latest study, Living with Perfectionism: Through the Eyes of Adolescents and their Parents. This study involves two main stages:
- Stage 1: Photo Elicitation
- Teens and parents each will respond to a series of questions using photos and short written responses to describe how each picture answers the question
- All responses will be uploaded using your own personal devices
- You would have two weeks to complete this stage, to allow you to upload pictures at your own pace
- For participating in this stage, you would each received a $30 CAD Amazon gift card
- Stage 2: Follow-up surveys and interview at Brock University
- You will both be invited to Brock University to complete individual surveys and a joint interview
- The surveys will ask questions about mental health, perfectionism, and relationships as well as general questions about your age, gender and race
- The interviews will ask about your experiences with perfectionism and will give you the chance to talk about your pictures from Stage 1 in more detail
- For participating in Stage 2, you will each receive a $55 CAD Amazon gift card
After the project is completed, we will also be holding a public exhibition of the pictures and narratives submitted in Stage 1. This is an opportunity for you to share your experiences and participation in this study with the community, if you choose to have your work included! You will both be invited to attend this event and will be sent the information for a virtual version of the exhibition, in case you are unable to make it or want to share with family and friends. Please note that the exhibition is completely optional and, as a participant, you would have the choice of which pictures would be eligible for display, if any.
To be eligible for this study….
- Both teen and parent must be residents of Ontario
- Both teen and parent must be willing to participate
