A mindful moment

Taking a moment to pause and pay attention to the sights, sounds and scents in the surrounding environment is a mindfulness practice that can help minds and bodies destress. To encourage students to discover new ways to destress, Teaching and Learning Librarians Vanja Stojanovic (left) and Justine Cotton (centre) hosted a pop-up coffee and aromatherapy event on Wednesday, April 17 in the Matheson Learning Commons. First-year Master of Business Administration student Emma Li (right) stopped by to learn how some essential oils can be used for energy, focus or stress relief and how coffee’s aroma and flavours can help improve relaxation, focus, cognition and memory.
